If you really want to know the absolute last detail of the web. The specification is here. This is not a tutorial or class. It's filled with hyperlinks that go to hyperlinks. If you want to look something up that is the best organization.

It lists the home pages of the Sponsors of the specifications. The power houses of the industry. Some of the pages are really, really nice. Some of their pages suck.
