It could just rotate.

 

Normally if you click the image you will go to the link.

   Javascript Controlled Images
This Item uses four images.  The top 2 images are embedded in text, the lower two are not.  For demonstration purposes they are all the same images, they can all be different. 
 
The top image on the left controls the image on the right.  When you mouse over it, it starts a timed load.  When you Mouse out it stops the timed load next image.   
 
The second image controls the first image.  When you mouse over the second image it starts the timed load next image on the first.  When you mouse out of the second image it stops the timed on the first image. 
 
The third image controls the fourth image.  When you click the third image it loads the next image into the fourth image. 
 
The fourth image controls the third image.  When you mouse over it, it loads the next image into the third image. When you mouse out it loads the first image into the third image.
